Former two time World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi has been named president of the new FIA Drivers' Commission.
On Friday 8th March 2013, following a World Motor Sport Council meeting in Geneva the FIA released a statement confirming the composition of this years commission, the statement read:
"Following a mandate from the 2012 General Assembly, the WMSC confirmed the composition of the Drivers' Commission. Under the Presidency of Emerson Fittipaldi (BRA), the rights and interests of drivers across the disciplines will be represented by the following members:"

Nine-time WRC Champion Sebastien Loeb was named Vice-president with several recognisable Formula One drivers' named to oversee single-seater drivers.

In relation to Formula One, 1992 World Champion Nigel Mansell was named alongside former Hispania Racing driver, Karun Chandhok and former Marussia test driver, Maria de Villota.
The new Commission has been able to set up following an International Olympic Committee hearing last year, in which they provisionally recognised the FIA as an official federation.
