Schumacher, bowed out of the sport for a second time at the end of the 2012 season but clearly, he isn't ready to put his feet up in retirement. The former Ferrari and Mercedes legend has put pen to paper with Italian Kart manufacturer, TonyKart.

Initial rumours claimed he was set to fill a development role testing new models but, Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo have revealed that he is set to race as well.

It is suggested that he will compete in the KZ category, an International Championship restricted to 125cc gearbox karts.

In preparation for the 2013 Karting Championship, Schumacher visited the Italian, Lonato Circuit last week where it was reported some of his lap times were 'very good'.

The 44 year-old also made headlines in Germany with the Kolner express newspaper reporting that Schumacher is set to team up with track designer Hermann Tilke.

Together they aim to build an World Championship standard karting track in Cologne, Tilke said:

"We will build the best track in Europe, the plans are ready."

The German great will undoubtedly be missed in F1 this season, here are some of his most memorable moments.
